Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Lexington, KY seeks an Associate Quality Assurance Manager to lead Quality Inspectors supporting Rotary Wing programs under the SOF GLSS contract. You will implement compliant inspection routines, drive zero-escape verification, and ensure adherence to technical data and procedures.

You will coordinate internal and government inspections, manage root cause analysis and corrective actions, and report program KPIs to improve first-pass yield and reduce cost of quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering, or quality discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in aviation maintenance or depot-level processes.
• Experience leading quality inspectors and aviation teams.
• Ability to travel and obtain Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight to QA inspectors and aviation personnel.
• Establish compliant inspection rhythms, procedures, and quality culture.
• Integrate quality into aircraft modification, repair, and maintenance.
• Drive zero-escape inspection rigor for safety-of-flight systems.
• Supervise RED-X conditions and final aircraft acceptance buy-offs.
• Liaise with DCMA for inspections and closeouts.
• Plan and oversee internal/program quality audits per AS9100/9110 and QMS.
• Manage Root Cause and Corrective Action process.
• Monitor KPIs to identify defects and reduce cost of poor quality.
• Collaborate on continuous improvement to reduce waste and rework.
