Job summary

Wellman Dynamics Division in Creston, IA is seeking a Quality Engineer to plan and direct activities for developing and maintaining quality standards for aerospace processes, materials and products. You will evaluate production equipment, design inspection methods, and drive corrective actions for non-conformances.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, at least 3 years in quality assurance and proficiency with RCCA, SPC and PPAP.

Qualifications

Minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in manufacturing, engineering or QA.
3+ years in a quality assurance role with proficiency in RCCA, SPC and PPAP.

Responsibilities

Investigate non-conformance issues and determine root cause with corrective action.
Prepare corrective action responses to customers reporting non-conformance.
Prepare departmental procedures and work instructions required by AS9100 and customer requirements.
Evaluate Quality department processes, including laboratory and inspection, and recommend improvements.
Liaise between Engineering and Manufacturing for non-conformance issues and corrective actions.
Develop new inspection instruction sheets and update existing ones.
Prepare submission materials for NADCAP, ISO and customer specifications.
Perform data analysis, including SPC, to support process improvements.
