Zusammenfassung

Beehive Industries is seeking a Quality Engineer to support aerospace manufacturing inspection activities and documentation in a fast-paced shop located in Knoxville, Tennessee. This role requires AS9100 compliance awareness, data collection, and close collaboration with senior Quality Engineers to ensure products meet engineering and customer requirements.

Ideal candidates will read engineering drawings, understand GD&T, and be proficient with basic measurement tools.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in quality, manufacturing, or engineering roles.
• Internship, co-op, or academic project experience in manufacturing or quality environments preferred.
• Exposure to aerospace, machining, or precision manufacturing environments is a plus.
• Basic understanding of quality inspection principles and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with guidance.
• Familiarity with basic GD&T concepts (training level acceptable).
• Basic use of measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and indicators.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn inspection and quality methods.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong communication skills and ability to ask questions and learn in a team environment.

Aufgaben

• Support dimensional and visual inspection activities using calipers, micrometers, indicators, and height gauges.
• Assist in interpreting drawings and basic GD&T requirements under guidance from senior team members.
• Help collect, organize, and document inspection data for quality records, inspection reports, and First Article Inspection (FAI) packages.
• Support setup and execution of inspection plans and control plan activities as directed by senior Quality staff.
• Assist with SPC data collection and basic reporting activities (control charts, process monitoring support).
• Help maintain Quality Management System (QMS) documentation including inspection records, calibration logs, and work instructions.
• Support identification and documentation of nonconforming materials using established quality processes.
• Assist with root cause investigations by gathering data and supporting analysis activities (5 Whys, basic problem-solving tools).
• Support CMM and comparator inspection activities under supervision or training.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality teams to support production inspection needs and resolve basic quality issues.
• Help ensure compliance with AS9100 requirements through adherence to procedures and documentation standards.
• Use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to support data entry, reporting, and documentation tasks.
• Maintain organized inspection areas and support a clean, safe, and controlled work environment.
• Follow all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, PPE requirements, and hazard reporting expectations.
• Perform other duties as assigned
