Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking a Quality Engineer to ensure product conformity with QMS, specifications, and customer requirements for aerospace and industrial products. You will inspect, analyze defects, and drive continuous improvement across Manchester and Columbia facilities.

The role emphasizes RCCA-driven root-cause analysis, use of Lean/QA tools, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to reduce scrap and costs while supporting AS9100 and related standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or manufacturing required.
• 3–5+ years in quality assurance, control or operations, with team leadership.
• Experience with AS9145, AS9100D, AS9101/2/3, ISO9001:2015 or equivalents.
• CI tools experience (e.g., Lean, RCCA, belts).
• Advanced RCCA problem-solving capability.
• CQE certification is a plus.
• US work authorization; ITAR compliance required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure product conformity across Manchester and Columbia value streams.
• Lead root cause investigations for customer complaints and returns.
• Coordinate RCCA with cross-functional teams to reduce COPQ.
• Apply Lean/QC tools (Kaizen, 5-Why, 8D) to improvements.
• Lead new technology adoption to improve QA productivity.
• Support FAIR, PPAP, PFMEA activities as needed.
• Prepare QMS performance reports and maintain QC documentation.
