Job summary

Howmet Aerospace in Ohio seeks a Quality Engineer reporting to the Quality Manager. You will manage Quality Planning during contract reviews, document control, and QA audits; lead continuous improvement programs and analysis of statistical data to set quality standards and reliability targets.

You will develop and analyze data, support new product launches with advanced quality planning, provide QA interface with customers, drive corrective/preventive actions, and help maintain the Quality

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a quality role within a complex manufacturing environment; aerospace experience a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Science, Technology, Quality, or other technical fields.
• Experience with 8D, root cause analysis and associated statistical tools; Six Sigma and Lean preferred.
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems such as AS9100 and ISO-9001; certification a plus.
• Knowledge of GD&T and blueprint reading.
• Ability to multitask, work under pressure and travel ~20%.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead quality assurance improvement programs for continuous improvement.
• Manage documentation and quality plans throughout production and new product introductions.
• Lead quality audits and coordinate with customers to ensure requirements are understood and met.
• Coordinate and lead Material Review Board meetings.
• Oversee calibration program and support regulatory audits.
• Lead risk assessment activities related to equipment, suppliers and processes.
