Job summary

Textron Lycoming Engines in Williamsport, PA, invites an intern to contribute as a Quality Engineer. You will engage in quality planning, contract review, and supplier interface tasks on real projects alongside seasoned professionals. This 10-week program offers mentorship and hands-on experience within a global aviation leader.

The role emphasizes quality assurance, inspection planning, and process improvement, with opportunities to work across internal teams and design reviews.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or have completed a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of statistical techniques and applications.
• Ability to organize and prioritize assigned tasks.
• Effective written and oral communication skills, good interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Performing quality planning activities including development of Quality Plan, Quality Assurance Directive and Inspection Plan documents as required by the assigned project(s).
• Reviewing customer contracts; responsible for requirements analysis, identification and definition.
• Interfaces with Supplier Quality Engineering to provide guidance and support for supplier issues.
• Uses knowledge of inspection tools and techniques to define inspection requirements.
• Participates in process improvement activities through monitoring, root cause investigations, auditing, failure analysis.
• Participates in design document reviews and assists in developing fabrication/build processes and standards.
• Interfaces with internal organizations and systems in performance of the assigned Quality Engineering functions.
