Job summary

Ontic Chatsworth seeks an Aerospace Quality Engineer to support manufacturing operations and ensure products meet customer, regulatory, and QMS requirements.

You will own assigned products, manage nonconformances, conduct First Article Inspections, lead root cause investigations and drive corrective actions across Engineering, Operations and suppliers to improve quality and prevent escapes.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years in aerospace Quality Engineering or manufacturing.
• Degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Familiar with AS9100/AS9102, nonconformance, MRB and corrective action.
• Experience reading drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and aerospace processes.
• Knowledge of 5-Why, Fishbone, 8D, FMEA and quality metrics.
• Desirable: ASQ, Six Sigma, IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001, and Net-Inspect/ERP/QMS experience.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specs, customer requirements and quality flow-downs.
• Manage nonconformance reports, MRB activities, and corrective actions.
• Perform and review AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports.
• Lead root cause investigations using structured problem solving.
• Analyze defects and quality trends to identify improvements.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations and Inspection to resolve issues.
• Support audits and maintain quality documentation.
