Job summary

Ontic Engineering and Manufacturing, Inc. in Chatsworth, CA, is seeking a Quality Engineer to lead quality initiatives onsite. You will review contracts for quality terms, develop procedures, and drive defect prevention with production and engineering teams.

The ideal candidate has a manufacturing/mechanical engineering degree or equivalent, ASQ certification or substantial aerospace QA experience, and a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and AS9102 First Article Inspection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• ASQ certification (CQE, CQA, CQM) or 7 years aerospace quality engineering experience.
• Extensive expertise in aerospace products and processes.
• Strong background in regulatory administration and quality engineering principles.
• AS9102 First Article Inspection, DISCUS/Net Inspect.

Responsibilities

• Apply Quality Management System thinking to improve product quality.
• Review contracts and purchase orders for quality requirements.
• Develop and implement quality procedures and metrics.
• Collaborate with production and engineering to identify risks and improvements.
• Conduct audits to assess capabilities and recommend improvements.
• Manage nonconformance and corrective action processes.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Train inspection personnel.
