Job summary

Vivace International Corporation in New Orleans, LA, seeks a Level 2 Aerospace Quality Engineer to independently support QA initiatives across manufacturing and engineering, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards and leading RCCA/CAPA activities.

The role partners with engineering, production, and suppliers to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and drive continuous improvement. 2–5 years of relevant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline or equivalent
• 2–5 years of experience in aerospace quality engineering or related field
• Strong understanding of QA practices, regulatory requirements, and aerospace standards (AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA/EASA)
• Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, specs, and inspection methods
• Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI), PPAP, or equivalent
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement
• Skilled in RCCA/CAPA, root cause analysis, and quality tools
• Strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Lead and improve the Quality Management System (QMS) to comply with AS9100/ISO 9001 and aerospace regulations
• Conduct audits, inspections, and process verifications per drawings and customer requirements
• Perform RCCA/CAPA activities to prevent issue recurrence
• Support MRB activities for nonconforming hardware and supplier quality issues
• Manage QA documentation including FAIs (AS9102), NCRs, and audit findings
• Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality concerns and improve performance
• Monitor key metrics (yield, defects, escapes) and drive improvement projects
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and inspectors; liaise with customers/regulators during audits
