Job summary

Actalent seeks a Quality Engineer II in the Kansas City area to contribute to aerospace electronics quality. You will support FAIRs, documentation, internal audits, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives to meet stringent customer requirements.

This role offers hands-on experience with new products and exposure to AS9100/ISO 9001 standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, update procedures, and help maintain quality systems while progressing your career in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, or related).
• 1–2 years of engineering or manufacturing experience, including internships or co‑op experience.
• Knowledge of AS9100 or ISO 9001 standards beyond foundational level preferred.
• Experience or interest in quality engineering, quality control, and continuous improvement.
• Familiarity with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
• Understanding of IPC standards and electronics manufacturing practices.
• Exposure to aerospace and defense industry requirements and practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in completing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and related documentation.
• Support customer source inspections by preparing documentation packages.
• Review sales orders to confirm quality requirements and generate QCIs for production and inspection teams.
• Participate in internal investigations and support root cause and corrective action activities.
• Update and maintain quality procedures, forms, and inspection criteria.
• Support training on workmanship standards and quality requirements across teams.
• Prepare basic quality metrics, KPIs, and trend charts.
