Job summary

Pursuit Aerospace in Whitesboro, NY is seeking a Quality Engineer I to support operational and development programs and drive zero-defect initiatives. The role will help implement quality processes and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

This position involves inspections, testing, non-conformance management, and documentation, with collaboration across production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and improve overall product quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering, Material Science or Metallurgy.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Responsibilities

• Support writing procedures and collecting and analyzing data.
• Support in implementing and maintaining the quality management system (AS9100, NADCAP).
• Support the inspection and testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Utilize PFMEA, Measurement System Analysis, and Control Plans to monitor and improve internal processes.
• Work with cross-functional teams to identify root causes of quality issues and assist in CAPA implementation.
• Assist in evaluating supplier performance and quality, supporting supplier audits, and developing quality improvement plans.
• Work closely with production, engineering, and other departments to resolve quality issues and improve overall product quality.
• Participate in continual improvement activities (5S, Kaizen, LEAN).
• Support Quality Inspectors to ensure compliance with quality system and customer requirements.
• Create and maintain company quality documentation such as quality manuals and procedures.
