Job summary

The role emphasizes AS9100/ISO9001 audits, PPAPs, and first article inspections in a low-volume, high-mix machine shop environment. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 5+ years' experience, or 7+ years direct experience in aerospace machining.
• Ability to interpret customer quality requirements and translate them into QC procedures.
• Experience leading failure analysis and corrective actions.
• Proficiency in APQP/PPAP, PFMEA, control plans, and Gage R&R concepts.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and dimensional inspection methods.
• Experience performing internal audits to AS9100/ISO9001 and ISO quality systems.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Travel occasionally as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality engineering functions in a low-volume, high-mix machine shop.
• Create and approve PPAP packages including PFMEA, Process Maps, and control plans.
• Lead 8D problem solving and document findings for stakeholders.
• Conduct internal ISO9001/AS9100 audits and follow-up on corrective actions.
• Coordinate calibration and maintenance of metrology equipment.
• Interface with inspectors, machinists, and suppliers to drive quality improvements.
