Job summary

Chromalloy Gas Turbine LLC in Tampa, FL is seeking a Quality Engineer to ensure aerospace products and processes meet customer requirements, engineering specs, and regulatory standards. You will partner with quality, engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to drive improvement and support safe, reliable engine components.

Location is on-site in Tampa with opportunities to lead investigations, develop inspection methods, and support audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Metallurgical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in manufacturing/aerospace or highly regulated environments.
• Knowledge of QMS, quality tools, and RCA methodologies.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• ASQ CQE certification (nice to have).
• ASQ CQA certification (nice to have).
• Experience in AS9100 environment and AS9102 inspections.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with AS9100, customer and regulatory requirements.
• Lead investigations of nonconforming material and quality issues using 8D, RCCA, and Five Why.
• Develop and maintain inspection plans, control plans, and work instructions.
• Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) per AS9102.
• Analyze quality data and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Support audits and ensure timely closure of findings.
• Monitor scrap, rework, yield, and customer complaints.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain.
• Participate in process validation and continuous improvement initiatives.
