Job summary

Intuitive Machines is seeking an Aerospace Quality Engineer in Houston, TX to ensure components, assemblies, and processes meet quality standards and regulatory requirements. The role leads root-cause investigations and collaborates across functions to drive continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in aerospace quality, strong AS9100 knowledge, FAI/PPAP experience, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Aerospace, or related field.
• 3+ years of quality engineering in the aerospace or defense industry.
• Strong knowledge of AS9100 and aerospace manufacturing processes.
• Experience with FAI, nonconformance management, and corrective action methodologies.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes aligned with AS9100/AS9110 standards.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and production processes to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
• Lead nonconformance investigations using structured problem-solving methods (5Why, 8D, Ishikawa).
• Define, track, and analyze quality metrics; recommend and implement performance improvements.
• Support First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9145 and PPAP requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
• Conduct internal audits and support external audits (customer, regulatory, certification bodies).
• Develop inspection plans, quality control procedures, and risk assessments.
• Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) processes and provide disposition recommendations.
• Train production staff on quality standards, inspection techniques, and continuous improvement practices.
