Job summary

Alleima Special Metals in Kennewick, WA, is seeking a Quality Engineer to lead quality planning for new and existing products. You will drive process validation, risk assessment, and quality documentation while supporting the organization’s quality objectives and collaborating with stakeholders to implement effective solutions.

You will ensure QMS compliance, investigate issues, and lead continuous improvement to reduce defects and improve supplier and process performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, metallurgical, industrial engineering or related field.
• At least four years of quality engineering or related experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with quality planning and improvement methodologies (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, control plans, process validation or FAI).
• Experience supporting quality management systems, root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with industry, customer, and regulatory requirements.
• Investigate quality issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Monitor quality and process performance using data to drive continuous improvement and reduce defects, scrap and rework.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Laboratory, and customer-facing teams to resolve quality concerns.
• Review inspection and testing results to ensure products meet specifications and customer requirements.
• Support audits and address findings from internal, customer, supplier, and third-party audits.
• Partner with suppliers to resolve quality concerns and improve supplier performance.
• Maintain accurate quality documentation, records, and traceability systems.
• Champion a culture of quality, safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
