Job summary

Triumph Group in West Hartford, CT is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to support internal and external customers and drive the company’s Quality Assurance strategy to ensure products meet industry standards and customer requirements.

You will oversee Customer/Program, Manufacturing Process and Supplier Quality Engineering duties; develop data-driven improvements for the Hydromechanical value stream; implement and audit QMS; interface with customers and suppliers; participate in new product

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, Quality or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a quality role within a complex manufacturing environment.
  • Aerospace regulatory knowledge/experience desired.
  • Strong problem-solving methods (8D, root cause analysis) and the statistical tools used to analyze problems.
  • Knowledge of APQP/PPAP tools such as PFMEA, Control Plans, PCKC, MSA, CPP.
  • Understanding of AS9100, ISO-9001, AS13100 or related standards.
  • Experience preparing First Article Inspection Reports per AS9102.
  • Ability to interface with all departments and external suppliers/customers.
  • Program Quality experience with Prime Engine Suppliers preferred.
  • MS Office proficiency (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Willingness to travel ~10%.
  • Familiarity with Q-Pulse FAIR, Net-Inspect, MRP/JDE and Teamcenter.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Customer / Program, Manufacturing Process and Supplier Quality Engineering Duties.
  • Develop and analyze data to implement improvements in the Hydromechanical value stream.
  • Develop, implement, and audit Quality Management Systems and associated documentation; support new product development and launches.
  • Provide Quality interface and expertise between the organization and its customers, including contract review/flow down and corrective actions.
  • Provide expertise in Quality Assurance tools to support continuous improvement activities.
  • Develop, implement, and audit inspection/test plans, standards and acceptance criteria; manage corrective actions.
  • Participate in all aspects of new product development and launch activities, including design reviews and test program evaluations.
