Job summary

Express Employment Professionals - LAX in Hawthorne, CA is seeking a meticulous Quality Control Inspector to ensure high-precision machined parts meet GD&T and aerospace standards. This full-time, non-exempt role requires hands-on inspection in an ultra-precision CNC shop and accuracy with metrology tools.

You will perform Receiving, In-Process, and Final inspections, interpret blueprints, and support NCRs and traceability under AS9100 / ISO 9001. Knowledge of PC-DMIS and Net-Inspect is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2–5+ years of quality inspection experience in aerospace, military defense, or ultra-precision CNC manufacturing.
• Robust understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
• Strong knowledge of AS9100 / ISO 9001 aerospace quality tracking standards.
• Proficient in basic shop mathematics, geometry and trigonometry to verify angles.
• Due to defense contracts, must meet export control criteria and be a U.S. Person under ITAR.
• Must lift up to 35 lbs, stand long periods on a production shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Dimensional & Visual Inspection: Receiving, In-Process, and Final inspections on complex parts.
• Precision Metrology: Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, dial indicators, bore gauges, optical comparators.
• Blueprint & GD&T Interpretation: Read complex drawings and CAD models to determine tolerances.
• Non-Conformance Control: Create NCRs and assist root-cause analysis with manufacturing teams.
• Traceability & Compliance: Verify material certifications and maintain data traceability per AS9100/ISO 9001.
• Calibration Standards: Monitor calibration status of inspection tools before use.
