Job summary

Ursa Major seeks a Laboratory Technician, Development to support analysis of solid rocket motor production materials. The ideal candidate will assist in setup, operation, and maintenance of lab-scale equipment, with experience building hardware and general electrical work, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.

You will work with propellant development and analysis teams, document procedures, participate in data collection and meetings, and help expand into new areas.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in chemistry, mechanical/materials testing, or related R&D facility.
• Familiarity with hardware and electrical systems; knowledge of safety protocols for hazardous materials.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and data acquisition systems; strong documentation skills.
• Ability to read and follow SOPs; high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and manage experimental hardware and instrumentation with the propellant development team.
• Build hardware, data acquisition setups, and fiber optic lines.
• Establish procedures and conduct experiments to collect quality data.
• Participate in analysis meetings and report anomalies affecting development.
• Maintain laboratory records and ensure data governance.
