Akkodis is seeking a full-time Project Engineer to join our team on a contract-to-hire basis to support a global leader in aviation, space, and defense components in the Jacksonville, FL area.

The role involves planning and managing engine harness projects, supervising development and modification work, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery. Strong engineering and project-management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or manufacturing engineering is required.
• Experience as Project Engineer/Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer in aerospace or automotive sectors preferred.
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills are essential.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Project, Word, and PowerPoint is required.
• Ability to document, plan, and execute multi-task projects; strong presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage new-product development projects following established processes.
• Manage project scope, scheduling, resources, risk, and progress to meet on-time, on-budget targets.
• Lead or support design reviews ensuring requirements and standards compliance.
• Develop technical solutions, leveraging past designs and best practices.
• Oversee engine harness design/development/modification for aerospace applications as needed.
• Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to communicate status and align activities.
• Resolve issues per established procedures and escalate where needed.
