Job summary

Firefly Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Engineering Designer to support the design and integration of electrical wiring interconnect systems across our launch vehicles and spacecraft. This role focuses on creating harness layouts, interconnect documentation, and manufacturing drawings that enable rapid development, reliable flight hardware, and efficient production.

You’ll work closely with electrical, mechanical, propulsion, thermal, and manufacturing

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in aerospace wiring harnesses, and ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Strong documentation discipline and configuration control.
• Experience with routing, grounding, shielding, and EMI/EMC considerations.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain drawing packages including schematics, wire diagrams, 3D routing, assembly drawings, and BOMs.
• Collaborate with engineers to define routing, wire gauge, shielding, grounding, derating, connector selection, and EMI/EMC considerations.
• Integrate harness designs into vehicle CAD models with proper fit and clearances.
• Support rapid prototyping and flight hardware builds by resolving design issues and updating documentation.
• Maintain compliance with IPC/WHMA-A-620 and NASA specifications.
