Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in Clayville, NY is seeking a hands-on technician to support furnace operations in a manufacturing setting. You will perform cleaning, rigging, PIV operation, and assist with furnace maintenance under team supervision.

The role requires safety compliance, ability to work at heights, and lifting up to 25 pounds. It offers a Monday-Thursday 4x10 schedule and an hourly rate of $21.

Qualifications

• HS diploma (or GED) in the US.
• Must have good attendance record.
• Must have strong communication skills.
• Must be able to work from heights – up to 60 feet.
• Must be able to wear a respirator.
• Must have strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ascend/descend stairs and lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning, monitoring and securing operations for vacuum atomization furnace setup.
• Operate basic hoist and rigging operations.
• Operate powered industrial vehicles (PIVs).
• Assist with removal/replacement of furnace lid and coils; clean interior and seal.
• Attach/detach gas, electric, water lines to furnace lid and tank.
• Remove/replace furnace lid with electric hoist; disassemble/reassemble during alloy changes.
• Support continuous improvement and EH&S initiatives; wear PPE as required.
• Occasional shifts outside regular hours; adhere to schedule.
