Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is hiring for an onsite manufacturing/maintenance role in Clayville, NY. The position involves setup and operation support for vacuum/rotary atomization furnaces, including cleaning, loading charges, and basic repairs.

The candidate will follow detailed instructions and contribute to safety and efficiency initiatives. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and offers comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. GED in the US)

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning, monitoring and securing operations for furnace setup.
• Load charge into crucible ensuring amount, type and elements match specifications.
• Work from verbal and written instructions to perform repetitive tasks during pours and after a pour.
• Assist in preparing raw material charges, running the furnace control board, and minor repairs on furnace/equipment.
• Carry out housekeeping duties and maintain furnace and chamber cleanliness.
• Assist in the removal and replacement of coils and cleaning the interior of the furnace chamber.
• Clean raw material charge and transport to charge area; attach/detach gas, electric, and water lines to furnace.
• May be assigned additional tasks to support department objectives and develop skills.
• Support the cell’s continuous improvement and EH&S initiatives, including wearing PPE.
• Refer difficulties to Supervisor or Team Leader.
• The position will work a schedule of Monday - Thursday (4x10) 2:00pm - 12:00am (7th shift).
