Job summary

Rocket Lab’s Space Systems team in Silver Spring, MD, builds spaceflight hardware including mechanisms and deployables. The role supports development and assembly of aerospace hardware and requires hands-on aerospace assembly experience and basic circuitry knowledge.

Base Pay Range (MD Only) is posted; candidates should expect a variable schedule with extended hours. Equity and robust benefits are offered, including a company-sponsored health plan and 401(k) with employer match.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years hands-on aerospace assembly experience.
• 5+ years hands-on aerospace assembly experience (III level).
• Understanding basic electronic circuitry required.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision assembly of aerospace mechanisms.
• Operate spaceflight hardware and assembly fixtures using data acquisition systems.
• Attach and remove components on spaceflight hardware.
• Inspect mechanical and electrical components.
• Solder space flight harnesses per the J-STD.
• Generate ideas for potential process improvements.
• Assist with non-conformance investigations.
