Job summary

Leoforce in South Windsor, CT is seeking a Production Planner to coordinate production schedules, align material availability, and drive on-time delivery. The role links Sales, Production and Purchasing to resolve shortages and optimize throughput in a fast-paced aerospace/defense manufacturing setting.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in manufacturing and strong MRP/ERP skills, with the ability to lift up to 30 lbs and work across floor and office teams.

Qualifications

• U.S. Person per export control laws; must pass background check and drug screen.
• Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience in production planning, scheduling, materials, expediting, or supply chain.
• Proficiency in Visual ERP or similar ERP, plus Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of MRP, production scheduling, inventory control, capacity constraints, and workflows.
• Ability to interpret BOMs, routings, lead times, work orders and travelers.
• Able to work across production floor and office teams in a fast-paced setting.
• Able to lift up to 30 lbs; PPE required on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain production schedules and priorities based on demand, capacity, materials and supplier delivery information.
• Serve as the central link between Sales, Production and Purchasing on material availability and constraints.
• Partner with Purchasing and suppliers to resolve shortages and expedite materials.
• Review MRP, inventory, open work orders, routings, lead times and demand signals; adjust work orders as needed.
• Prepare production documentation, including work instructions and travelers.
• Maintain backlog, WIP and material visibility; flag impacts to production and delivery.
• Update commit dates and work order status in ERP and communicate changes.
• Assess expedite requests, coordinate recovery actions, provide status updates.
• Escalate risks and propose recovery plans.
• Present order status and constraints in production meetings.
• Support inventory accuracy with stockroom/inventory control.
• Collaborate with production floor management to hit daily output targets.
