Job summary

Astronics CSC in Waukegan, IL is seeking a Material Planner to ensure material and component availability for production, coordinating flow to balance inventory and avoid shortages. The role collaborates with production, supply chain, and quality teams to support cost control and on-time delivery.

Qualifications include 3+ years in material planning, ERP/MRP proficiency, and understanding of BOMs, routings, and machining processes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s in Supply Chain preferred.
• Minimum 3 years material planning or production control in manufacturing.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (Epicor, Dynamics 365 or equivalent).
• Strong analytical skills with Excel and data analysis tools.
• Understanding of machining, BOMs, and routings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Procure and manage supplier relationships to ensure on-time material availability.
• Read and interpret BOMs and drawings to support material planning.
• Release purchase orders and coordinate outside processing.
• Monitor inventory levels and reorder points; optimize safety stock.
• Collaborate across Production, Quality, Engineering, and Purchasing.
• Track and communicate material status and potential supply risks.
