Job summary

Belcan Corporation seeks a hands-on Manufacturing Process Improvement Engineer to support aerospace manufacturing operations in Indianapolis by driving measurable QCD improvements on the factory floor. You will apply data-driven manufacturing engineering methods to identify root causes and implement sustainable process improvements.

The ideal candidate will have experience with DMAIC, SPC, DOE, and MSA/Gage R&R, and a proven track record of reducing scrap, improving yield, and shortening cycle

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of aerospace manufacturing experience with strong background in manufacturing engineering, process optimization, and production support.
  • Demonstrated expertise applying structured problem-solving and root cause analysis methods including 5 Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagrams, Fault Tree Analysis, and 8D.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including experience using statistical analysis tools and data-driven decision making.
  • Hands-on experience with statistical methods such as SPC, capability studies, MSA / Gage R&R, regression analysis, or Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable operational improvements such as scrap reduction, yield improvement, cycle time reduction, or throughput gains.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • Due to the nature of the work U.S. Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute manufacturing improvement projects focused on Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) performance.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret production data to identify process issues and drive fact-based decision making.
  • Apply structured root cause analysis tools including 5 Why, Fishbone (Ishikawa), Fault Tree Analysis, and 8D problem solving.
  • Utilize statistical analysis and process control tools such as SPC, capability studies, regression analysis, ANOVA, and Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Partner with Quality, Production, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams to implement improvements that reduce waste, improve cycle times, and increase process capability.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to validate improvements and ensure sustained operational gains.
