Job summary

Boyd Thermal by Eaton in Woburn, MA, is seeking a Process Engineering Manager to lead process engineering and maintenance teams, drive operational excellence, and ensure high-precision aluminum vacuum brazed heat exchangers and cold plates meet aerospace standards.

You will own process optimization, NPI integration, SPC and QA collaboration, and asset management, mentoring the team, and partnering with design, production, and safety to deliver reliable, scalable manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
• 5+ years of process engineering experience in aerospace/defense/high-reliability manufacturing.
• 5+ years of CNC programming experience.
• 3+ years of brazing and assembly in manufacturing.
• Experience managing maintenance functions.
• Experience in aluminum vacuum brazing, machining, and thermal management manufacturing.
• Experience with lean manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, optimization, and standardization of manufacturing processes for Aluminum Vacuum Brazed Heat Exchangers and Cold Plates.
• Identify and implement opportunities for efficiency gains, cost reduction, yield improvement, and enhanced product quality.
• Partner with design engineering, program management, and production teams to ensure seamless integration of new products into manufacturing.
• Develop robust, scalable processes that support rapid NPI while maintaining quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with Quality to ensure processes comply with aerospace/defense standards (AS9100) and customer requirements.
• Establish and monitor process controls, SPC, and root cause analysis for reliability.
• Direct maintenance department planning, scheduling, and preventive/corrective activities.
• Attend Tier II/III meetings to support daily management and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Foster lean culture and data-driven decision making; lead projects to reduce downtime and improve throughput.
• Mentor the Process Engineering team and deliver training on new processes and equipment.
• Ensure safety regulations and Eaton EHS standards are followed; promote zero-incident culture.
