Job summary

Forest City Gear in Roscoe, IL is seeking a Process Engineer to drive aerospace manufacturing processes. You will review customer blueprints, apply GD&T, and develop travelers or process routes to ensure parts meet print and quality requirements.

You will utilize metallurgy and machining knowledge to optimize processes, oversee plating and heat treatment, and maintain documentation in accordance with ISO 9001 and AS9100. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Metallurgy, Manufacturing, or related field.
• Experience in aerospace process engineering or a manufacturing environment.
• Strong GD&T interpretation and blueprint reading skills.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.
• Knowledge of metallurgy, metal fabrication, and machining.
• Experience with plating and heat treatment processes.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret customer-approved blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Apply GD&T to ensure accurate manufacturing processes.
• Create travelers or process routing packets with step-by-step manufacturing instructions.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality management standards.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to optimize processes.
• Utilize metallurgy, metal fabrication, and machining knowledge to improve processes.
• Oversee plating and heat treatment to meet aerospace requirements.
• Maintain documentation and records per aerospace standards and company policies.
