Job summary

The Gill Corporation-Maryland is seeking a fabrication-focused technician to manufacture aerospace honeycomb/core materials at Edgewood, MD. You will read engineering drawings and use precision tools to meet exact tolerances and quality standards.

Responsibilities include layout, trimming, routing, and cutting, with adherence to safety policies and lean manufacturing practices. Overtime may be required to hit production milestones and customer commitments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years in aerospace/precision manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Proficiency with precision measurement tools.
• Strong English reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate aerospace structural components and honeycomb/composite core materials per drawings and work orders.
• Interpret sketches and process sheets to meet close tolerance requirements (±.001–.005 in).
• Document and certify process steps for traceability and compliance.
• Perform layout, trimming, routing, and cutting within tolerances.
• Use micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, height gauges, and other inspection devices.
• Operate saws, routers, expanders, and roll formers safely and efficiently.
• Contribute to preventive maintenance and lean manufacturing initiatives.
