Job summary

Firefly Aerospace seeks a Public Relations Manager to lead media relations and amplify the company story for aerospace, defense, and technology audiences. You will craft messaging, coordinate with executives, and manage a fast-paced communications calendar.

The role requires strong writing, established media relationships, and the ability to translate highly technical information for diverse audiences. Occasional travel is expected as part of the duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or equivalent experience.
• 5-10 years of experience in public relations, media relations, or corporate communications.
• Publicly traded company experience required, preference for aerospace/defense.
• Experience with quarterly earnings and investor relations.

Responsibilities

• Manage development of press releases for key news items, milestones, contracts, partnerships, and updates.
• Manage all media inquiries, coordinate responses with subject matter experts, prepare spokespeople for interviews.
• Build and maintain relationships with top-tier aerospace, defense, technology media.
• Identify proactive media opportunities to amplify Firefly’s vision and tech roadmap.
• Support corporate messaging for clear, consistent communication across external channels.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to capture and amplify program milestones across launch, lunar, and in-space lines.
• Coordinate with creative team to develop graphics and marketing assets for news announcements.
• Support external speaking engagements with talking points and briefing materials.
• Manage Firefly's award tracker and support award nominations.
• Report on media metrics and provide insights for improvement.
• Distribute weekly Firefly news roundup company-wide.
