Job summary

Hytek Finishes Co. in Kent, WA is hiring an Aerospace Polisher trainee on 1st or 2nd shift. You will learn polishing techniques on wheel lathes, Dynafiles, and hand tools to meet military and OEM specs for grain finishes.

The role involves FAA DOT drug testing, and training on the 1st shift with potential progression. Proper PPE and safety procedures are required in a high-demand production environment.

Qualifications

• This position requires access to export-controlled information and all applicants must satisfy U.S. export control regulations with authorization to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process parts using a variety of polishing techniques.
• Work closely with Experienced Polish Operators and Department Leads to complete work and prioritize tasks.
• Will learn to follow shop traveler, technique card, customer Purchase Orders, and instructions from experienced Operators and Department Leads.
• Review and identify internal paperwork so as to ensure all previous operations were completed, notifying Production Supervisor and Quality Assurance team of any processing errors.
• Prepare Parts prior to operations including mechanical or chemical cleaning.
• Prepare parts as called out in Purchase Orders and Tech Cards.
• Perform inspection, measuring, and testing or part surfaces as required.
• Perform pre and post cleaning surface finish requirements.
• Follow Quality Assurance requirements.
• Follow safety precautions as trained.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Overview

Job Title: Aerospace Polisher

Reports to: Shift Supervisor

Location: Kent, WA

Type: Full Time, Non-Exempt (hourly)

Schedule: 1st or 2nd Shift; Training on 1st

Hytek production is open 24 hours per day. All shifts are as follows: 1st shift (Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.), 2nd shift (Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.), 3rd shift (Sunday - Friday, 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.)

As a Polish Operator Trainee, you wil l learn a range of techniques and tools for polishing parts including the use of wheel lathes, Dynafiles, and various hand tools to achieve customer driven visual requirements, most often to achieve a grain finish appearance. Polish Operators and Operator Trainee's each perform operations in accordance with Military and OEM specifications. This role may be required to join the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program*.

*FAA DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program requires an initial pre-employment drug test including a screen for THC, subject to quarterly Drug & BAT testing.

Education/Previous Experience Requirements

• 1-2 years in a manufacturing or production environment a plus; working with wheel lathes and/or dynafiles is also helpful.

Due to the manufacturing environment, Personal Protection Equipment is required including safety glasses, goggles, gloves, and N95 mask as needed (provided by Company).
