Job summary

RTX's Collins Aerospace unit in Cedar Rapids is offering a Systems Engineering Co-op from January to August 2027. You will contribute to avionics design, integration and testing for helicopter cockpit systems in the SOA programs, gaining hands-on experience in a high-tech defense environment.

You will learn requirements capture, peer reviews, and how to allocate requirements across domains while using DOORS, JIRA, and the ALM tool suite in an Agile team setting.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
• Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.

Responsibilities

• Learn requirements capture and peer review for next generational cockpit avionics for the SOA programs.
• Participate in decomposing and allocating requirements to appropriate domains within Collins Aerospace.
• Support the creation of test procedures to verify requirements.
• Participate in on-site execution of requirements-based testing, robustness and Ad-Hoc testing in a lab environment.
• Collaborate within an Agile-based development team of professional engineers.
