Job summary

TRIUMPH seeks a Plant Quality Engineer for its Macomb, MI facility to ensure aerospace components meet stringent customer and internal requirements.

You will collaborate with operations, engineering and inspection, analyze complex problems, manage nonconformances and drive corrective actions to improve process capability and product quality.

This role demands strong communication, data analytics, and a proven track record in aerospace manufacturing quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM).
• 3+ years of relevant aerospace manufacturing quality experience.
• AS9100 experience is required.
• Strong problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with machined components.
• Experience reading machined product drawings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interface at all levels.
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated work ethic and attention to detail.
• Initiative to engage in problem solving and improvements.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate daily with operations, engineering, manufacturing and inspection to ensure high quality products.
• Analyze complex problems and derive effective solutions.
• Communicate technical issues and corrective actions to managers, customers and executives.
• Determine material review board dispositions for nonconformances.
• Use data analytics to investigate history, identify trends and reduce defects.
• Identify opportunities for quality improvements and waste reduction.
• Lead and participate in nonconformance investigations and corrective actions.
• Participate in program and quality assurance reviews.
• Track and report monthly quality performance metrics.
• Review customer drawings and specifications to understand requirement flow downs.
• Prepare and review quality documentation including policies and First Articles.
• Conduct internal audits and support auditors.
