Barnes Aerospace in East Granby, CT seeks a Planning Manager to develop and manage the Master Production Schedule (MPS) ensuring on‑time delivery while optimizing inventory and capacity. The role translates sales forecasts, backlog and targets into executable production plans across manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of production planning or scheduling in manufacturing.
• Experience managing complex multi‑product schedules.
• Aerospace, industrial, or regulated manufacturing experience preferred.
• Advanced ERP/MRP planning experience and strong Excel/data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the Master Production Schedule (MPS) for all product families.
• Lead the site Planning team with direction, coaching and performance management.
• Convert demand, forecasts and backlog into executable production plans.
• Ensure schedules are capacity-feasible within labor, machine and material constraints.
• Maintain rolling horizons of 12–26 weeks and balance forecast demand with inventory targets.
• Coordinate with sales and demand planning to respond to demand changes.
• Adjust schedules for variability, Expedites or shortages and RCCP checks.
• Identify capacity constraints and propose solutions (overtime, outsourcing, shifts).
• Drive Lean and S&OP initiatives to improve forecast accuracy and inventory.
• Level load production withOperations leadership and ensure materials availability.
