Job summary

Blue Origin on Space Coast, FL is seeking a Planner/Scheduler for the SWORD Prototype Group to craft high-level schedules for complex prototypes and products. You will manage priorities, allocate resources, and coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to keep programs on track.

You’ll monitor KPIs such as capacity and timing, support continuous improvements to planning workflows, and provide on-site support during builds.

Qualifications

• Planning for a fast-moving, dynamic manufacturing environment and team.
• Customer-centric approach with ability to facilitate solutions with minimal direction.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing planning, machine shop operations, or supply environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Experience purchasing raw materials or COTS hardware in production or prototype settings; RFQs and supplier delivery management.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems (Costpoint, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate project requirements and set team-wide priority, sequencing, and allocation considering external factors.
• Monitor resources and provide actionable recommendations and deconfliction at program level.
• Maintain readiness to discuss KPIs such as capacity, timing, and availability for development projects.
• Support continuous improvements to planning frameworks and workflows.
• Provide hands-on shop floor and ship-side support during builds and resolve constraints.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships; support and expedite critical buys.
• Apply manufacturing knowledge to develop high-level schedules for the team.
• Assist team members in filling gaps and expanding support as needed.
• Negotiate delivery expectations with internal customers and push back on unreasonable demands.
