Job summary

RTCA is a precision aerospace and defense manufacturing group seeking a Buyer to plan, coordinate, and execute Outside Processing purchasing. You will support cross-functional teams including Quality, Engineering, Planning, Estimating, Manufacturing, and Finance in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 2–5 years in purchasing, strong PO management, and the ability to negotiate with suppliers. Onsite Chatsworth, CA, with competitive benefits and potential bonus opportunities.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in purchasing or supply chain, preferably in aerospace or manufacturing.
• Independently manages routine OSP POs and vendor communications.
• Supports quote activities for Estimating and ensures timely return of processed parts.
• Assists in supplier selection and participates in performance reviews.
• Troubleshoots discrepancies in invoicing, delivery, and documentation with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

• Work a full-time, onsite position at our Chatsworth location.
• Source and maintain relationships with vendors and processors meeting aerospace standards.
• Create, manage, and track POs for outside services such as heat treating, anodizing, NDT, passivation, painting.
• Evaluate supplier quotations and lead times to support purchasing decisions.
• Negotiate pricing and monitor supplier performance to contain costs.
• Coordinate with Shipping/Receiving on logistics and documentation for OSP parts.
• Review shortage reports to ensure Just-In-Time support for operations.
• Resolve discrepancies in supplier invoices, deliveries, and documentation with Accounting and Receiving.
• Support Estimating by sourcing pricing aligned with customer specs and timelines.
• Develop working knowledge of the MRP/ERP system to manage purchasing data.
