Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a hands-on Specialist, Optical Engineering in Wilmington, MA to support aerospace programs with optical assembly, integration and test. You will work on imaging systems across UV to LWIR in space environments, using interferometry and precision adjustment to meet alignment tolerances.

Responsibilities include creating test workflows, configuring test equipment, leading lab testing, interpreting interferometry data, and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 4+ years of relevant experience or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Create assembly and test workflows and write optical test plans and procedures.
• Configure and align optical test support equipment as part of the setup.
• Lead and conduct testing and alignment of complex optical systems in lab environments.
• Interpret interferometry data to aid adjustments of components and systems.
• Collaborate with optical design and modeling efforts and mentor engineers.
