Job summary

Averro is seeking a VP of Operations to lead a large manufacturing operation in the aerospace sector. The role includes managing 5 direct reports and 140+ indirect staff across production, EHS, maintenance, and procurement.

You will own safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics, driving data-driven improvements and cost reductions of about 5% annually. Strong P&L and cross-functional leadership are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Background in supplier or sub-tier manufacturing environment serving OEMs.
• Regulated industry experience (aerospace/defense/maritime/rail/medical).
• Minimum 60 employees managed (direct or indirect).
• Demonstrated P&L ownership with ability to present financial data to executive leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop 5 direct reports overseeing 140+ indirect employees across production, EHS, maintenance, value stream management, and purchasing.
• Own production metrics across safety, quality, delivery, and cost; drive 5% annual cost reductions.
• Manage P&L accountability; present operational and financial performance to corporate leadership quarterly.
• Partner with sales and finance to forecast headcount needs and staffing decisions.
• Oversee procurement and supply chain functions including vendor negotiation and inventory management.
• Champion lean manufacturing and daily continuous improvement across production operations.
