Job summary

RTX is seeking an NDT Inspector at the Bridgeport, WV engine center to perform non-destructive testing on engine parts using dye penetrant, magnetic particle and X‑ray techniques. This safety‑sensitive role requires strict EH&S compliance and will operate on a 5th shift from Friday to Sunday, 5pm–5am.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED, 3+ years in NDT, and Level 2 certification. Training may occur on other shifts for up to 6 months, with emphasis on ethics and FAA guidance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as an NDT Inspector/Technician preferred.
• 8-16 hours of formal training in MPI, FPI, etc.
• Level 2 NDT certification with proper training and records.

Responsibilities

• Perform Non-Destructive Inspection duties relating to the overhaul and repair of gas turbine engines.
• Perform Fluorescent Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, and/or X-Ray inspection methods on various engine components to determine conformance to Overhaul and Repair Manuals and Quality Standards.
• Set up equipment, conduct tests, and interpret, evaluate, and document results in accordance with the approved procedures.
• Familiar with the scope and limitations of the method in which they are certified and shall be capable of directing the work of trainees and Level I personnel.
• Organize and document N.D.T. results. Familiar with the codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the method being utilized.
• Write procedures and/or initiate techniques that must be approved by the Level III before use. Must use discretion based on job knowledge and experience when performing non-routine inspections.
• Plan and schedule incoming engines to meet customer requirements in absence of Lead person.
• Comply with all company work rules, follow safe work practices and procedures established to protect the environment, and report to supervisors all unsafe acts, hazardous conditions, and conditions which impact or have the potential to impact the environment.
• Responsible for reading, understanding, and complying with RTX's Code of Ethics, including the obligation to report actual and suspected violations of the code.
• Perform all other related duties as required or assigned.
