Blue Origin is seeking a Shift Leader to lead a team of test technicians within the Operations group. You will set technical direction, hire and develop staff, and drive performance through continuous improvement initiatives in launch vehicle test planning and hardware development cycles.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and timely execution in an aerospace manufacturing environment. Flexible shifts are required and leadership experience is essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of supervisory experience
• 3+ years' experience in aerospace manufacturing operations
• Root cause and corrective action analysis experience
• Understand the department KPI's metrics to improve performance
• Strong communication skills with a heavy customer focus
• Must have a continuous improvement mindset
• Clear understanding of production versus development environments
• Fluent in use of precision hand tools
• Familiar with use of personal computers
• Self-motivation and ability to prioritize projects to meet completion dates

Responsibilities

• Supervise GS1 Mid/Final Integration Technicians in day-to-day operations
• Conduct performance reviews
• Support recruiting efforts (conducting technical screens/participating in panel interviews)
• Responsible for establishing workstation assignments, employee training, overtime assignments and back-up for absent employees
• Maintain and communicate work center schedule status to ensure meeting customer expectations
• Provide first level escalation support to employees regarding HR issues (employee relations, worker's compensation, disciplinary actions, timecards, PTO requests)
• Identifying Continuous Improvement opportunities and implementing change to improve process, reduce cycle and setup times
• Maintain all work center programs. These programs include 5S, Lean, Cleaningand Safety
• Ensure all team members follow work instructions, quality requirements and processes
• Ensure accurate technician staff data recording - namely clock-in/clock-out activities
• Provide continued training and skills development for team members, and mentor early career team members
• Ensure start-up readiness for production
• Safely work within an industrial environment
