Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a Mechanisms Engineer to support development, integration, and validation of advanced aerospace systems. This role blends hands-on mechanical work with problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration across hardware lifecycle, from manufacturing to mission operations.

Ideal candidate has 4+ years in mechanical/aerospace hardware, experience with deployment mechanisms, and proficiency in 3D CAD tools. On-site in Western Texas with competitive compensation and RSUs.

Qualifications

• 4+ years with moving components and aerospace hardware.
• Experience with spacecraft, satellites, launch vehicles, or defense systems.
• Familiarity with environmental testing standards and aerospace quality.
• Knowledge of actuators, gear trains, deployment systems, latching mechanisms, and motion-control assemblies.
• Experience developing test fixtures, automation tools, or custom integration equipment.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and test requirements.
• Proficiency with Creo, SolidWorks, CATIA.

Responsibilities

• Lead integration and verification of spacecraft deployment and actuation mechanisms.
• Execute hardware builds and support manufacturing, test, and flight operations.
• Develop integration procedures, test plans, and engineering documentation.
• Perform mechanical analyses and evaluate interfaces, clearances, and system performance.
• Conduct environmental and functional testing to qualify flight hardware.
• Analyze test results, resolve anomalies, and drive corrective actions.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the hardware lifecycle.
