Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a Mechanisms Engineer to join a Federal Consulting company in Midland, TX. The role focuses on designing, assembling, integrating, and testing spacecraft mechanisms to support rapid satellite constellations and mission deployments on site.

The engineer will work with CAD tools and ground support equipment, perform data analysis, and collaborate across teams to ensure mechanism performance from design through launch.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or related engineering fields.
• Proficiency in mechanical assembly, testing, and integration of space hardware.
• Experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo) and test equipment such as oscilloscopes and thermal chambers.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, integrate, and test spacecraft mechanisms, including thousands of moving parts per satellite.
• Develop and operate ground support equipment for vibration, shock, and thermal vacuum testing.
• Analyze test data, determine pass/fail criteria, and support spacecraft integration and launch operations.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to ensure mechanism performance from design through mission deployment.
• Troubleshoot anomalies and contribute to design improvements.
