Job summary

RTX Corporation in Rockford, IL seeks an Engineer II, Mechanical Design Engineering, to design test equipment and systems for the MPC division. You will support military and commercial aerospace products, including gearboxes and fuel pumps, through the full development lifecycle.

The role involves leading test equipment activities, documenting drawings, and working with Product, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineers to meet schedule, budget, and performance objectives.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in designing mechanical rotating equipment is preferred.
• Experience in designing hydraulic and fluid circuits.
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, NX, and SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Design test equipment and systems for MPC products for military and commercial applications.
• Lead test equipment activities from build through commissioning and validation.
• Document drawings, schematics, diagrams, and specs of test equipment designs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality, schedule, and budget targets.
