Job summary

RTX's Advanced Products Center in McKinney, Texas, seeks a Mechanical Engineering Intern focused on Special Tooling and Test Fixtures. You will support product builds through mechanical design from concept to final assembly and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure tool fabrication and implementation.

You will design mechanical models and drawings, assist in quotes and make-versus-buy decisions, and help track schedules and budgets while maintaining documentation for customer-owned

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering (STEM) and enrolled through the internship.
• Must have at least 60 credit hours by start of internship/co-op session.
• Experience with 3D modeling software, Creo or ACAD.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical models and drawings for Special Tools and Test Fixtures of low to moderate complexity.
• Support the entire design process including quotes, make-versus-buy, and scheduling/budget tracking.
• Present status updates in meetings and document customer-owned property guidelines.
• Assist in assembling designs and automated test set designs as needed.
• Collaborate with product, quality, reliability, test, industrial, and operations engineers to support manufacturing.
• Resolve technical challenges promptly with a focus on customer needs.
