Job summary

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) invites undergraduates and graduates to join the Aerospace, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering Internship program at Tunnel 9, AEDC White Oak Campus. Interns work full‑time for 10–12 weeks, mentored by senior engineers, and contribute to air force and project missions in a dynamic, test‑driven environment.

Projects span R&D tunnel testing, data acquisition, and hardware/software interface development, with exposure to Creo/AutoCAD/ANSYS tools and practical lab

Qualifications

• Resumes must include degree program, projected graduation date, and GPA to be considered.
• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a relevant engineering degree.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week for 12 weeks from May to August for a full‑time temporary position.
• Must be able to travel between multiple facilities within the complex and obtain security clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for employment at AEDC.

Responsibilities

• Operate and conduct tests in Tunnel 9’s R&D Mach 3 tunnel and install hardware for tests at Mach 7–18.
• Validate data‑acquisition configurations and perform pre‑test instrumentation checks.
• Develop GUIs to process and decode test data; modify interfaces for data‑acquisition systems.
• Create electrical schematics in AutoCAD and support field implementation of measurement systems.
• Improve HMI screens and PLC ladder logic for facility control systems.
• Prepare technical documentation and dew‑point measurement hardware recommendations.
