AeroVironment, Inc. is offering a 12-week Summer Internship Program in the United States.

As an Aeromechanical Engineering Intern, you will support the development of small UAV systems for military and commercial applications, working with experienced engineers on design, prototyping and testing within an Integrated Product Team (IPT). This onsite, paid internship targets motivated students with a minimum 3.0 GPA, preferably juniors or above, and may include relocation and housing

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
Familiar with SolidWorks for 3D modelling and assembly design.
Foundational knowledge of statics, dynamics, thermodynamics and materials.

Responsibilities

Assist in design and development of airframe structures and aeromechanical components for UAVs.
Create and modify 3D CAD models and assemblies using SolidWorks.
Support basic mechanical analysis with guidance from senior engineers.
Participate in prototype fabrication, 3D printing and lab testing.
Help create and revise engineering drawings, BOMs and docs per standards.
Contribute to technical presentations and design reviews.
Learn about trade-offs, material selection and integration with multi-disciplinary systems.
Assist with design improvements and troubleshooting on current programs.
Perform other duties to support engineering and development goals.
