Job summary

AeroVironment offers a Summer Aeromechanical Engineering Intern program in the United States. You will work with seasoned engineers on UAV systems, CAD modeling, and hands-on prototyping from concept through testing.

You will learn to balance design trade-offs, material choices, and integration with multi-disciplinary teams while contributing to real aerospace projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Experience with SolidWorks for 3D modeling and assembly design.
• Foundational understanding of statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, and materials.
• Interest in air vehicles, robotics, or electromechanical systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and contribute to team efforts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and development of airframe structures and aeromechanical components for UAV systems
• Create and modify 3D CAD models and assemblies using SolidWorks
• Support basic mechanical analysis (kinematics, thermodynamics, stress) with guidance
• Participate in prototype fabrication, 3D printing, and lab testing
• Help create and revise engineering drawings, BOMs, and documentation
• Contribute to technical presentations and design reviews
• Learn about engineering trade-offs, material selection, and integration with multi-disciplinary systems
• Support design improvements and troubleshooting on current programs
• Perform other duties as assigned
