Job summary

AeroVironment, based in California, is seeking an Aeromechanical Engineering Intern to join our Summer Internship Program. You will work with experienced engineers on aircraft systems, from design through prototyping, gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology in a mission-driven environment.

As part of an Integrated Product Team, you will contribute to mechanical design, testing, and documentation while learning industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Exposure to CAD tools such as SolidWorks for 3D modeling and assembly design.
• Foundational understanding of mechanical engineering principles (statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, materials).

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and development of airframe structures and aeromechanical components for UAV systems.
• Create and modify 3D CAD models and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Support basic mechanical analysis with guidance from senior engineers (kinematics, thermodynamics, stress).
• Participate in prototype fabrication, 3D printing, and lab testing.
• Help create and revise engineering drawings, BOMs, and documentation to industry standards.
