Job summary

Crane Aerospace & Electronics in Elyria, OH, seeks a Mechanical Engineer I–IV to lead design and program activities within cross-functional teams, ensuring cost, schedule, and performance targets are met. Qualifications

  • Fluid dynamics, statics & dynamics, design of mechanical components, vibration, stress and strain, coatings & heat treating, metallurgy, strength of materials, drawing layout / stack-ups, GD&T.
  • Finite Element Analysis (Ansys preferred), CAD drafting/3-D solid modeling (Creo preferred), basic programming.
  • Teamwork and individual growth are fostered to enable employees to contribute and achieve their fullest potential.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering preferred.
  • Occasional travel to customer and supplier facilities for technical interchange meetings, design reviews, product support, and technical seminars. Passport required.
  • Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by ITAR.

Responsibilities

  • Assume complete responsibility for assigned proposals, projects, investigations, and/or other activities under the guidance of a supervising manager.
  • Operate within cross-functional teams to achieve program objectives.
  • Apply program management skills to control costs and schedules.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction, cost, quality, and delivery commitments.
  • Define and manage technical and program requirements, including flow-down of subsystem specifications.
  • Produce technical reports and documentation to satisfy customer and program requirements.
  • Provide instruction and guidance to other personnel supporting program objectives.
  • Maintain accurate program accounting and data management.
  • Identify and lead process definition and improvement efforts.
