Job summary

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on avionics integration, electronics packaging, or wire harness design.
• Strong experience with 3D CAD tools for mechanical design and detailed drawings.
• Practical experience with EMI/EMC mitigation techniques, enclosure design, and wire harness routing/integration.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop avionics mounting architectures, including shock and vibration isolation, structural load paths, serviceability, and connector access.
• Own avionics enclosure and electronics packaging design with EMI/EMC mitigation techniques such as grounding/bonding strategies, shielding, cable entry management, and enclosure seam design.
• Design and release wire harnesses, including routing, connector selection, strain relief, bend-radius compliance, abrasion protection, grounding schemes, and maintainability.
• Support avionics thermal integration by developing heat rejection pathways and thermal budgets, and validate performance through testing.
• Develop and execute environmental qualification testing for integrated avionics assemblies, including vibration, shock, thermal cycling, ingress protection, and EMI/EMC testing.
• Collaborate with electrical, firmware, systems, manufacturing, and test teams to manage packaging constraints, connector interfaces, harness architecture, grounding schemes, and hardware bring-up through flight qualification.
• Contribute to test plans, technical documentation, and engineering reviews.
• Ability to support critical project milestones, including extended hours or weekends when required.
